Fellowship Program Director, Clinical Assist/Assoc/Professor Addiction Medicine

The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is recruiting for a Program Director for our Addiction Medicine Psychiatry fellowship program. This individual will join the Addiction Medicine Division which includes a robust set of clinical services, research activities and educational activities that support and enhance the Addiction Medicine Psychiatry fellowship.

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF), in Gainesville, Florida is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Addiction Medicine. The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenured multi-mission track faculty position. The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing and improving the Addiction fellowship program, by implementing changes based on current accreditation requirements as well as hiring, training and mentoring the fellows. Additionally, the position will provide inpatient and outpatient services in our Addiction Medicine division at the UF Health Psychiatric Hospital and UF Health Florida Recovery Center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, unit administration and operations; clinical teaching and scholarly activity; patient care; and supervision and education of residents in clinical setting by promoting the mission of Addiction Medicine at the University of Florida. The successful applicant for this position will report to the Vice Chair & Chief of the Addiction Medicine division.

Expected Salary: Commensurate with training and experience

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have: M.D. or D.O. degree. Licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida. Possess prior clinical experience in a teaching hospital. Board certified/board eligible in Addiction Medicine through ABAM/ASAM. Completed fellowship in Addiction Medicine. Experience in administrative or educational leadership in academic psychiatry.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest and experience in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry. Ability to work in a teaching environment and collaborate with therapists and other allied health professionals. Strong interpersonal communication skills.

The UF Department of Psychiatry is a leader in innovative, evidence-based treatment programs for a variety of mental health and substance use disorders. Treatment teams within UF Health Psychiatry specialize in dual diagnosis. They are experienced in managing treatment plans for multiple co-occurring disorders. Clinical faculty, fellows and residents provide subspecialty care using transcranial magnetic stimulation, parent-child interaction therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and specific treatments for obsessive-compulsive disorder and addiction.

We are nationally recognized for our research on addiction, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, physicians and health professional's substance abuse, Tourette's disorder, basic and clinical psychopharmacology, neuroimmunology, gene-environment interactions in abnormal repetitive movements, dynamic functional magnetic resonance imaging and proteomics.
