Job description

Work Location & Eligibility: This position is fully on-site in Dallas, Texas and is not eligible for remote work. Relocation assistance is not available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Improved data gathering and analysis is a priority for the Perot Museum in helping to understand visitor behavior and expectations, donor priorities, and trends in education. As a member of the Insights and Analytics team, the Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the accuracy of the museum’s data, creating readily accessible dashboards and key performance metrics, providing participation data needed in grant applications and other fundraising initiatives, and forecasting program participation. In addition, the Data Analyst will work closely with other teams in the organization’s maintenance of its data. Critical to the success of this role is the ability to build strong, cooperative working relationships with stakeholders as well as the ability to communicate clearly and understandably.

Essential Duties & Responsibilites

  • Develop accurate internal dashboards and contribute to the development of metrics

  • Serve as a collaborative thought partner with departments across the museum to provide data/information and analysis helpful to improved management of their areas

  • Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests in an effective manner

  • Provide accurate data for Board meetings and other internal meetings

  • Work closely with I.T. team and implementation partners in process development within systems

  • Evaluate quantitative and qualitative survey results and lead as well as aid in the development of surveys

Supervisory Responsibilites - No. 

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, mathematics, business or related field

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a data analyst or related experience

  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, balance multiple priorities, and manage projects with multiple stakeholders of various levels of the organization

  • Proficient in using Microsoft technology such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as database management including SQL or SQL-like languages

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving, quantitative data analysis, and qualitative data analysis skills

  • Demonstrated effective collaboration across departments and teams

  • Experience identifying and adapting imperfect data as well as reverse engineering dashboards and analyses

  • Intermediate Level Tableau and Tableau Prep skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a museum or non-profit organization preferred

  • Salesforce and/or Ticketure experience preferred

  • Advanced Level Tableau skills

  • Tableau Certification

Essential Functions

  • Additionally, there may be occasional light lifting of boxes and other materials of 20 lbs. or less.
