This role is particularly useful for reaching patients in underserved or rural areas. Remote neurology improves access to specialized care while offering flexibility for both doctors and patients.

To thrive in Remote Neurology, you need board certification in neurology, excellent diagnostic abilities, and a strong understanding of neurological disorders. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and relevant state licensure are essential. Outstanding communication, independent problem-solving, and empathy help build trust and rapport with patients in a virtual setting. These competencies are crucial for delivering high-quality neurological care remotely and ensuring continuity for patients at a distance.

While working independently, frequent interaction with colleagues ensures patients receive comprehensive care. The role requires balancing scheduled patient appointments with timely follow-ups and ongoing professional communication, making strong virtual teamwork and organizational skills essential.

Job description

Weโ€™re hiring board-certified or board-eligible neurologists for a fully remote locum tele-neurology role supporting hospitals and emergency departments across multiple states. This is a flexible, ongoing opportunityโ€”perfect if you want supplemental work, prefer telemedicine long-term, or need a schedule that adapts to your life. Youโ€™ll provide real-time neurologic consultations for acute and inpatient cases (including stroke alerts) via a secure enterprise telemedicine platform, with full clinical and technical support.

What makes this role appealing

  • 100% remote telemedicineโ€”work from home
  • Competitive pay: $210.00 to $220.00 per hour
  • Locums engagement with long-term assignments available
  • Flexible full-time and part-time scheduling
  • Shifts available days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Malpractice coverage provided
  • Credentialing and licensing support (additional state licenses paid as needed)

Core responsibilities

  • Deliver remote neurologic consultations to ED and inpatient teams
  • Evaluate acute stroke cases and advise on thrombolytic or endovascular treatment
  • Review imaging and clinical data in real time
  • Collaborate with on-site clinicians to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Document encounters in the electronic medical record

What weโ€™re looking for

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Neurology
  • Comfort managing acute neurologic cases remotely; stroke experience preferred (vascular neurology is a plus)
  • Active U.S. medical license required
  • Multi-state licensure strongly preferred; licensing assistance available
  • Candidates with licenses already in hand are preferredโ€”particularly FL, NY, MA, TX, AR, AL, IA, AZ, CA

If you want a tele-neurology position that combines flexibility, meaningful acute-care work, and strong support for licensure and practice logistics, this could be a great fit.
