Job description

Role: Senior Cisco Network Engineer

Expected Duration: 12 Months -With potential for renewal

Location: 100% Remote-For the first 2-4 weeks, this resource may be required t0 work onsite in Huntsville, TX and will work remotely after. Texas-based candidates only with a strong preference for candidates local to Dallas, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio.

Responsibilities:

The network engineer is responsible for supporting the agency's network operation, security, maintenance and collaboration with other agency departments and external organizations to provide a secure and effective network solution. This would include responding to remote site circuit outages, router/switch/firewall issues, configuring and monitoring core to remote network equipment and similar tasks.  The network engineer also monitors the circuits daily to check for anomalies that may cause outages. This role also assists in providing any network support for all programs used in all client.

Required Skills:

8 years of Required Experience supporting large enterprise network operations

8 years of Required Experience implementing, upgrading and maintaining products from the CISCO suite of tools

8 years of Required Planning, designing and implementing local and wide area networks

8 years of Required Monitoring network infrastructure

8 years of Required Performing ongoing maintenance and problem resolution

Required Use of SecureCRT, Cisco Command Line Interface, and OSI

Excellent communication skills

Ability to take on projects and work independently meeting all deadlines

Preferred

CCNA, CCDA, CCNP
