Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY BUSINESS & INDUSTRY SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the New Construction Aircraft Carrier Division of the Waterfront Operations Department of SUPSHIP.

Duties
Help
  • You will serve as the Command's expert in Nuclear Aircraft Carrier (CVN) new construction for SUPSHIP.
  • You will serve as the Command lead in the oversight and execution of multi-billion dollar CVN design, development, construction, certification, delivery and post shakedown availability completion.
  • You will direct subordinate supervisors and team leaders in contract review, strategy, and execution.
  • You will represent the Command's official position on sensitive topics while maintaining congenial relations necessary for the proper conduct of business and the achievement of Aircraft Carrier New Construction objectives.
  • You will ensure CVN new construction project management team is appropriately and property staffed to workload.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring adequacy and management of funding for multi-billion dollar CVN new construction.
  • You will anticipate and assist in preventing costly delays, and directs subordinate teams to resolve problems affecting cost, scheduling and performance of contracts.
  • You will serve as the immediate supervisor to 2 YC-1152-02s and 2 Lieutenant/Lieutenant Commanders.
  • You will serve as the intermediate supervisor to 11 Production Controllers

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing the construction or material of nuclear powered ships involved in major ship acquisition, construction, conversion or deployment efforts (e.g., contract, detail design, technical data management, configuration management, product assurance, acceptance testing, etc.) to ensure proper staffing or workload for the achievement of program objectives.

This position has a control point; thus, the salary range for this position is capped at GS-15, step 05 which is currently equivalent to $170,164. If your current salary is above this amount, your
salary may be matched.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
The position often requires irregular hours.
This position requires rotating shift work.
This position requires evening and weekend work.
PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
