What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks for AFIMSC enterprise data.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force data management policies.

  • Establish data quality standards and monitor adherence across systems.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership and stewardship roles.

  • Support metadata management and data cataloging initiatives.

  • Implement processes for data lifecycle management and retention.

  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure data handling.

  • Provide training and guidance on data governance best practices.

  • Develop documentation for data governance policies and procedures.

  • Assist in audits and reporting related to data compliance.


What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Governance, or related field.

  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience in data management and governance.

  • Ability to operate successfully on remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the San Antonio metro area.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Master's degree in Data Governance or related discipline.

  • Certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP).

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.

  • Experience with metadata management tools and data catalogs.

  • Strong understanding of data privacy and compliance standards.

  • Experience with data quality monitoring and improvement.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to develop and enforce data policies and procedures.

  • Experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud environments.

  • Experience supporting DoD or Air Force data governance projects.

  • Knowledge of AI/ML data governance considerations.

  • Familiarity with data catalog tools like Collibra or Alation.

  • Experience with data lineage and impact analysis.

  • Understanding of zero-trust security models.

  • Experience with agile methodologies for governance implementation.

  • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements.

  • Ability to lead data governance working groups.
