Mid-Level / Senior Patent Agent (Software & Electronics) โ€“ Hybrid/Remote

Direct Counsel represents a well-regarded Am Law firm seeking a Mid-Level or Senior Patent Agent to support its Boston office. This role offers a hybrid or fully remote option and focuses on patent prosecution in software and electronics across a range of industries.

The position provides the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including software, hardware, and emerging areas such as AI, with exposure to both domestic and international patent matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in software and electronics
  • Conduct patentability analyses and respond to office actions
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients on IP strategy and portfolio development
  • Support matters involving emerging technologies; exposure to health/medical innovations is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2+ years of patent prosecution experience
  • Registration with the USPTO required
  • Experience with U.S. and international patent prosecution
  • Prior law firm experience preferred; industry experience is a plus
