Job description

As a Sr. Area Sales Manager - Retail (Enterprise), you will play a critical role in driving sales growth and market share across Owens Corning's retail channel. In this role, you will serve as a product and program expert, working directly with customers, store teams, and internal partners to deliver value-driven solutions and support execution in the field.

You will engage customers both in-store and in the field, strengthening relationships, supporting product adoption, and ensuring consistent execution across locations. This role blends relationship management, sales execution, and operational support to drive profitable growth and enhance the customer experience.

POSITION LOCATION: Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC (5-7 overnights a month)


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Partner with Regional Sales Leadership and Channel Marketing to develop and execute strategies that grow market share and drive revenue across the assigned region.
  • Analyze territory and sales data to identify opportunities for growth, mix optimization, and improved performance.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with store teams, including Pro desks, Millwork, and Building Materials, to support sales execution and drive volume.
  • Support contractor and remodeler engagement by developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and helping secure regional business.
  • Lead in-store execution activities to support sell-through, including new product launches, special programs, and high-priority product initiatives.
  • Deliver product knowledge and training to store associates to support confidence, consistency, and customer experience.
  • Partner with internal teams and functional groups to align messaging, resolve issues, and ensure effective communication between field and corporate teams.
  • Support profitability by driving product mix improvements and identifying opportunities for value-based selling.
  • Serve as a liaison for warranty and quality-related concerns, supporting issue resolution while balancing customer needs and business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and support implementation of solutions that enhance sales effectiveness and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in sales, account management, or retail/commercial field roles, with demonstrated ability to drive results.
  • Experience working across multiple locations, markets, or territories.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, store teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience analyzing data and using insights to inform sales strategies and decision-making.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to navigate challenges with a solutions-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building materials, retail environments, or construction-related industries.
  • Experience supporting or leading teams through coaching, training, or informal leadership.
