• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their unique emotional and psychological needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on unresolved grief, anxiety, and the emotional impacts of aging.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to design and implement detailed, personalized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social challenges faced by geriatric clients.
• Provide education and guidance to family members and caregivers regarding strategies to enhance the quality of life and emotional well-being of their loved ones.
• Administer grief and loss counseling for clients and families facing end-of-life issues, offering them compassionate support through difficult transitions.
• Develop and facilitate cognitive stimulation programs and therapeutic interventions aimed at improving mental acuity in older adults.

In this role, you will focus on elderly clients grappling with a wide range of mental health challenges, including grief, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. The goal is to empower seniors by equipping them with coping strategies and therapeutic tools to enhance their resilience and quality of life. You will work closely with seniors and their families, ensuring that care is holistic and culturally sensitive, addressing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our clients.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent and relevant experience in geriatric mental health counseling.

• Advanced training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic services to elderly individuals with varying mental health conditions.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices that promote mental well-being in older adults.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to connect empathetically with elderly individuals and their families.
