SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Python Software Developer in Boulder, CO, to support programs focusing on missile warning and missile tracking missions. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Python, thrive as part of a rapidly paced, collaborative, small-team environment consisting of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers, and be able to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions.ย ย 

Responsibilitiesย 

  • Work independently and with our team to develop high-quality software features aligned to project objectives
  • Assist in containerization, testing, and deployment of software for delivery to customersย 
  • Provide guidance and support for other technical performers
  • Other duties as assignedย 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer scienceย 
  • 2+ years professional software engineering experienceย 
  • Familiarity with microservice architectures ย ย 
  • Strong proficiency in Pythonย 
  • Demonstrable understanding of principles related to software engineeringย 
  • Commitment to quality in code and software engineering practicesย 
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceย 
  • Detail orientedย 
  • Good verbal and written communication skillsย 

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferredย 

  • An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer scienceย 
  • Experience or background with remotely sensed data or aerospace engineering principles
  • Familiarity with messaging technologies such as protobuf, ZMQ, Kafka, gRPC, REST APIsย 
  • Background in statistics
  • Professional experience with DevOps processes and tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Gitlab-CI/CDย 
  • Experience with SQL, PostGIS, Redisย 
  • Existing DoD security clearance
