What is remote maternity case management?

Remote maternity case management is a healthcare service where case managers, often nurses or social workers, support pregnant individuals virtually through phone calls, video conferences, or digital platforms. They help monitor the pregnancy, provide education, coordinate care among healthcare providers, and address any risks or complications. This approach allows expectant mothers to receive personalized support and resources from the comfort of their homes, improving health outcomes for both mother and baby. Remote case management is especially valuable for those with high-risk pregnancies or limited access to in-person care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote maternity case manager?

To thrive as a Remote Maternity Case Manager, you need a background in nursing or social work, knowledge of maternal health, and relevant licensure (such as RN or LCSW). Familiarity with case management software, telehealth platforms, and secure electronic health records is typically required. Exceptional communication, empathy, and organizational skills help you effectively support and educate expectant mothers remotely. These skills and qualifications are crucial for delivering quality, coordinated care and ensuring positive health outcomes in a virtual environment.

How do remote maternity case managers typically coordinate care with healthcare providers and patients from a distance?

Remote maternity case managers use a combination of phone calls, secure messaging, and video conferencing to maintain regular communication with expectant mothers and healthcare providers. They are responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, monitoring progress, and providing education and support, all while ensuring privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations. Building trust and rapport remotely can be a challenge, but strong organizational and communication skills help bridge the gap. Collaboration with OB/GYNs, nurses, social workers, and insurance representatives is essential to ensure comprehensive support for each patient.

In this remote role, you will have the opportunity to provide critical mental health services to individuals across the United States through our innovative online platform. Your expertise will help support clients in achieving their mental wellness goals while enjoying a flexible work schedule that promotes a healthy work-life balance.

About the Organization

Restore Wellness Medical Group is a community-focused health clinic committed to improving mental health outcomes through accessible care. As a member of our virtual team, you will engage with colleagues and clients through secure teletherapy sessions. Our technological platform is designed for ease of use, ensuring you can focus on what truly matters: delivering effective mental health care. Our supportive work culture encourages ongoing professional development and collaboration among team members, fostering an environment of shared knowledge and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive remote assessments and evaluations to identify clients' mental health needs, utilizing established tools and methodologies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' unique situations, employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Informed Care.

  • Engage in continuous professional development, participating in training sessions, workshops, and peer supervision to enhance your therapeutic skills and stay current with emerging trends and best practices in the field.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients who have been pre-screened to ensure they are stable and within low-acuity levels. This client base allows you to deliver the highest quality care without the complications that often accompany high-acuity cases. You will work with a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds, further enriching your practice and allowing for greater impact on community mental health.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted license as LMFT, LPC, or LICSW is mandatory. Please note that we cannot accept candidates who are interns or hold limited permits requiring supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and independence in managing client appointments, case management, and documentation are essential.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are critical for effective client interactions and documentation.
  • No history of disciplinary actions on your professional license.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience providing remote therapy or teletherapy is advantageous and will enhance your ability to connect effectively with clients in a virtual environment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience implementing, various evidence-based treatment modalities is preferred.
  • Experience working in community health settings or with diverse populations is a significant asset.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time role offers a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to this attractive salary, our counselors receive a monthly healthcare stipend to support their well-being. Flexibility is a cornerstone of our work culture; you will enjoy the ability to tailor your schedule to suit your personal life and professional commitments.

  • Full-time counselors have free access to our platform's services as clients, facilitating a deeper understanding of the client's perspective.
