Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions, employing evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy, tailored to meet the diverse needs of clients.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify clients' mental health issues and develop tailored treatment plans that respect their unique circumstances.
• Facilitate group and family therapy sessions, fostering supportive environments conducive to healing and personal growth.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records, following ethical guidelines and applicable laws to ensure client privacy and compliance.
• Stay abreast of developments in mental health practices by participating in workshops, training seminars, and professional development activities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this position, you will serve a diverse population, including individuals and families from various socio-economic backgrounds. Many clients face obstacles in accessing traditional mental health services, making your role crucial in providing essential support for issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance misuse.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure in New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of counseling experience, demonstrating expertise in clinical settings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from various backgrounds and situations.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) software to facilitate efficient documentation and billing processes.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or significant experience in family therapy, couples therapy, substance abuse counseling, or trauma-informed care is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively within a healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care.
• A solid understanding of the legal and ethical standards governing mental health practices.
