Job description

Dewberry is looking for a Professional Surveyor/ Transportation Project Manager to perform a variety of in-office or remote work tasks associated with land surveying for transportation projects and civil engineering in our Central Florida (Orlando/Tampa/Lakeland) location. Duties include consulting, preparing proposals and contracts; providing guidance and direction to surveying technicians; overseeing survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or directing preparation of all types of survey maps, conducting deed and map research and review, preparing Right of Way Control Surveys and Right of Way maps and agreements, performing survey computations, CAD oversight and quality assurance. Remote, hybrid and onsite opportunities are available for the right candidate.

· Provide guidance and direction to office staff and field crew(s).

· Provide team building skills within the technical survey staff.

· Oversee survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or direct preparation of all types of survey maps.

· Train office and field staff in land surveying procedures.

· Monitor project schedules, budgets & deliverables.

· Manage and coordinate projects with multiple team members.


· Registered Professional Land Surveyor in FL or ability to obtain in one year preferred.

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in all aspects of land surveying, transportation project management is required.

· AAS or BS Degree in Surveying is preferred.

· A successful track record of building client relationships in the surveying and related mapping industry.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.

· Experienced in all aspects of transportation surveying (FDOT a plus).

· Knowledge of Microstation and Geopak w/FDOT software. OpenRoads Designer experience a plus.

· Able to work out of town if required, flexible with work area.
