Job Description
The incumbent in this position exercises independent judgment, discretion, and decision-making in procuring and coordinating homeowner's insurance-related products and services for Seminole Tribe of Florida Members. The individual implements housing insurance guidelines, providing expert advise to Tribal Members on insurance needs, and ensuring accurate documentation and maintenance of policy records. The incumbent is responsible for evaluating and processing property and flood insurance claims, ensuring timely submission to carriers on behalf of Tribal Members and resolving complex claims issues. Additionally, the individual in this role determines strategies for maintaining compliance with housing insurance standards, initiates negotiations with insurance vendors, and oversees the organization and management of insurance-related records. The person in this role establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Tribal employees, community members, and insurance vendors. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Public Administration is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience working with housing insurance policies or related field is required. Possession of a Florida 2-20 or 4-40 Insurance's License is highly preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Knowledge and understanding of homeowner's, property, and flood insurance policies, including coverage types and claims processes. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, Power Point and outlook). Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel to all Reservations and be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
