Description
  • This position is for Mainframe Networking (VTAM, TCPIP etc.) - the position will be remote, onsite presence is not required. Candidate must be a self-starter requiring little supervision with a drive to understand systems and processes and being in possession of great problem solving abilities. Pager rotation duty required. Drug screening (9-panel) required for support of some accounts.
  • Mainframe Network system programmer; configure, implement, maintain, support host network definitions (VTAM, TCPIP etc.) for IBM/Kyndryl and IBM customer mainframe systems.
  • Provide Tier3 host network services support in broadest sense, at expert level for host network components VTAM/SNA, TCP/IP, secure FTP, Telnet3270, SMTP, Netview, NetView/FTP, Connect:Direct, etc.
  • The level of support requires understanding, expert knowledge and lengthy experience of IBM zSeries mainframe systems and technology, for z/OS (MVS) operating systems with specific focus on CommServer and related networking products.
  • Required competencies and knowledge and experience for the following host network components: z/OS Communication server, VTAM/SNA, APPN/EE (Enterprise Extender), TCP/IP, FTP, including secure file transfer, Telnet 3270, incl. TLS/SSL, SMTP, Netview, NetView/FTP, and any other network component, which are defined in scope of support.
  • Network design skills - providing detailed technical solutions for mainframe networking requirements supplied by the customer. This requires expert communications skills, both written and spoken and expert knowledge of mainframe environments and connected network devices.
  • Candidate required to be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
