Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Regional Facility Manager (RFM) provides operational leadership for an assigned state or geographic territory, ensuring the successful delivery of facilities services. This highly customer-facing role manages a fast-paced, service call-driven operation, overseeing the complete work order lifecycle-from dispatch through proposal development, execution, invoicing, and closeout-while ensuring compliance with contract requirements, service level expectations, and operational performance metrics. The RFM supports a 24/7 service delivery environment, coordinating routine, priority, and emergency service requests to ensure timely resolution and exceptional customer service. This is a remote based position with up to 25% travel required.
Serving as the primary liaison to the customer, the RFM develops strong customer relationships, manages regional subcontractor performance, maintains accurate work order data within the CMMS and operational tracking systems, and drives safe, high-quality, and responsive service delivery. The Regional Facility Manager is required to reside within the assigned territory to support customer engagement, field oversight, rapid response, and operational effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBIILTIES:
  • Serve as the primary customer representative within the assigned territory, building strong relationships and delivering responsive, high-quality facilities services.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of service calls and work orders from dispatch through proposal development, execution, invoicing, and closeout while meeting contractual service levels and customer expectations.
  • Oversee daily service operations within the assigned territory, coordinating routine, priority, and emergency work requests in a 24/7 operating environment.
  • Maintain accurate work order status, documentation, and performance metrics within the CMMS and operational tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility and reporting.
  • Develop, review, analyze, and submit repair proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates to ensure technical accuracy, competitive pricing, and contract compliance.
  • Evaluate subcontractor proposals and recommendations to determine the most appropriate repair solution and provide informed recommendations to customers and internal leadership.
  • Develop, recruit, manage, and evaluate a qualified network of subcontractors capable of supporting multiple facility service disciplines and meeting operational response requirements.
  • Monitor work order progress, vendor performance, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction while proactively resolving issues and communicating status throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Review completed work packages, supporting documentation, and invoices to ensure quality, accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, vendor evaluations, and quality inspections to strengthen customer relationships and ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Review project-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses, activity hazard analyses, LOTO procedures, and other required safety documentation, as applicable, to ensure work is planned and executed in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, area specific/OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety regulations, quality standards, and applicable codes while driving continuous operational improvement.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory as required to support customer meetings, field operations, subcontractor oversight, and emergency response activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Education:
  • Technical field experience, on-the-job facilities experience, trade training, apprenticeship, or demonstrated hands-on knowledge of facilities maintenance or related technical services.
  • OR, a related degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a similar discipline may be considered as a substitute for a portion of the field experience when combined with relevant technical or operational knowledge.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in facilities services, operations, maintenance, construction, or technical services.
  • Experience managing service call operations within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment supporting routine, priority, and emergency work requests.
  • Experience managing operations across multiple facilities or geographically dispersed service territories.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial building systems and facility service commodities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, exterior services, custodial, fire and life safety systems, building automation systems (BAS), and general building repairs.
  • Hands-on trade experience or demonstrated technical operations experience sufficient to evaluate repair methods, review scopes of work, analyze subcontractor proposals and estimates, and confidently communicate technical issues and repair solutions with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and negotiating proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and field service providers across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS platforms (Maximo preferred) and operational tracking systems for work order management, reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while achieving customer service, operational, financial, and performance objectives.
  • Experience supporting government, commercial, institutional, healthcare, transportation, or other multi-site facilities environments is preferred.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
  • Trade license in a relevant technical discipline.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification or equivalent safety training.
