We are currently searching for a Part-time EHS Safety Associatefor our client located in Lake Forest, IL. This is a part-time office role located in Lake Forest, IL.

Our client is an entrepreneurial company that provides contract manufacturing services to the cosmetics and personal care fields. They've been in business since 2018 and have grown at a very fast pace since that time. They specialize in developing and packaging liquids, creams, and hot-fill personal care products into bottles, tubes, jars, sachets, packets, and other package formats.

The EHS Safety Associate supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a contract manufacturing facility. This part-time role focuses on compliance, training, documentation, and on-floor safety engagement to ensure the site meets OSHA, EPA, and customer requirements. This is a part-time onsite position working up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Audits — Perform routine facility inspections, hazard identification, and follow-up corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance — Assist with OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory compliance tasks, including recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Training Support — Study and create training programs and safety initiatives. Conduct or coordinate safety training (PPE, LOTO, hazard communication, ergonomics, First Aid).
  • Incident Management — Support investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Contractor Oversight — Ensure contractors follow site safety rules and permit requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement — Participate in safety committees, improvement projects, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Customer & Audit Support — Assist with customer, ISO, or regulatory audits as needed.
  • Advisory Roles and Responsibilities - helps organization comply with safety regulations, mitigate risks, and improve environmental performance

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, or HAZWOPER are beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and basic environmental compliance.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with production teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic EHS reporting tools.
  • Must be able to work onsite for up to 20 hours per week depending on audit cycles and customer requirements.

Compensation: $45-$55 per hour

Location: On-site, Lake Forest, IL

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
