Remote Lmhca information

What is a Remote LMHCA?

A Remote LMHCA is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate who provides counseling services to clients via telehealth or online platforms instead of in-person sessions. This role allows the LMHCA to work from home or any location with a secure internet connection while meeting with clients through video calls, phone, or secure messaging. Remote LMHCAs typically assess, diagnose, and treat mental health issues under supervision as they work toward full licensure. They must comply with state regulations and maintain client confidentiality, just like in-person counselors.

What are some unique challenges of working as a Remote LMHCA, and how can they be managed?

As a Remote LMHCA (Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate), common challenges include maintaining client engagement through virtual platforms and ensuring confidentiality in home environments. It's important to establish clear communication protocols and set up a private, distraction-free workspace to protect client privacy. Building rapport and reading nonverbal cues can be more difficult online, so utilizing video calls and checking in regularly with clients is key. Collaborating with supervisors and peers through regular virtual meetings also helps in managing caseloads and receiving guidance.

What is the difference between Remote Lmhca vs Remote LMHC?

Both roles often work remotely providing mental health services, but LMHC professionals typically have more autonomy and responsibility.

Job description

Buscamos terapeutas bilingües (español/inglés) en Carolina del Norte

Daybreak Health is actively recruiting bilingual Spanish/English associate clinicians (LMHCA or LCSWA) to serve our growing caseload of Latino students and families across North Carolina. This is a part-time W2 remote role with free supervision, guaranteed pay, and consistent afternoon/evening hours.

Charlotte's Latino community is the largest in North Carolina, and the need for culturally competent bilingual mental health care for students statewide is urgent. If you're bilingual and passionate about serving Latino youth — this role was built for you.

What Makes This Different

  • Free supervision — weekly 1:1 and group supervision, fully covered
  • Guaranteed pay for late cancellations and no-shows
  • $35/hr individual sessions (12+) | $45/hr family therapy
  • Part-time W2 — real employment, not contractor instability
  • Fully remote — work from anywhere in North Carolina
  • Mon–Fri 3–8 PM — predictable, school-aligned hours
  • No billing, no credentialing, no admin — we handle everything

The Work

You'll provide evidence-based teletherapy to K–12 students across North Carolina, collaborating with school counselors and families statewide. Weekly individual and group supervision, case consultations, and clinical team discussions are core parts of the role.

What You Need

  • Active LMHCA or LCSWA in North Carolina (required — we are not able to hire other license types at this time)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency
  • Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged youth and families
  • Comfortable with telehealth and EHR systems
  • Available Mon–Fri 3–8 PM

Preferred

  • Experience in CBT, DBT, or similar modalities
  • Prior school-based or youth-focused experience
Pay Range
$35—$45 USD
