Job description

CV Resources has partnered with a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in Greenville, SC to find an experienced Compliance Manager

The Compliance Manager will support the administration and compliance of employee benefit plans, including retirement and health plans, ensuring they remain aligned with applicable DOL, IRS, ERISA, and ACA requirements. This role will be involved in plan documentation, regulatory filings, compliance testing, audits, and monitoring regulatory changes while partnering with internal teams, clients, and outside advisors to address compliance needs.

This position will also support annual license renewals for the TPA, President, and Chairman of the Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan Administration & Reporting: Support the preparation, review, and filing of Form 5500, Form 8955-SSA, participant notices, SAR reports, 1094/1095 filings, PCORI reports, and other required documentation.
  • Compliance Testing: Assist with or perform nondiscrimination testing, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, and 410(b) coverage testing.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current on applicable DOL, IRS, ERISA, and ACA requirements and assist with updates to plan documents, trust agreements, amendments, and related materials.
  • Audit & Risk Management: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including 401(k) plan audits, and assist with identifying and resolving compliance issues.
  • Advisory & Oversight: Partner with ERISA counsel, client relationship managers, plan sponsors, and internal teams to research questions, resolve issues, and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • License Renewals: Manage annual license renewals for the TPA, President, and Chairman of the Board.
  • Process Improvement: Help develop and maintain processes, documentation, and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate compliance administration.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, retirement plan administration, TPA operations, ERISA/benefits compliance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of employee benefit plans and applicable DOL, IRS, ERISA, and/or ACA requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn recordkeeping and testing systems such as ASC, Relius, or similar platforms.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, 401(k) administration, Form 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, or employee benefits compliance.
  • Experience working with plan sponsors, clients, auditors, ERISA counsel, or other external partners.
  • ASPPA designation (QKA, QPA, or CPC) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.

Ideal candidates may have experience in retirement plan administration, benefits administration, TPA operations, ERISA/benefits compliance, employee benefit plan auditing, or retirement-plan consulting.

Candidates do not need to have direct experience with every responsibility listed above. We are particularly interested in individuals with a strong foundation in employee benefits or retirement plans who are analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of learning additional compliance responsibilities.
