The Family and Social Services Administration serves more than 1.5 million residents through eight core programs. We are an integral part of the state’s efforts to support Indiana residents with a variety of programs and initiatives. Role Overview: 

Eligibility & Case Processing: Review medical records, changes, and redeterminations to determine disability; approve or recommend denial for disability cases.
Policy and Process Optimization: Ability to analyze workflows; Use state/federal regulations to make an accurate decision for Medicaid disabilityContinuous Learning Culture: Expected to stay current with policy changes and regulations; contribute to training materials, and team discussions on best practices.

Salary:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Review medical packets and render an eligibility determination in a timely accurate method.
  • Process all incoming Medicaid applications according to their priority, accelerated, expedited/waiver, regular and progress reports.
  • Determine what information is needed to obtain necessary documents to maintain the appropriate processing flow in case decisions.
  • Collaborate with department physicians as necessary during the application review process
  • Exercise judgment concerning the impact case decisions has and the necessity of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Some essential functions of this position may be performed onsite at the agency’s worksite or other assigned worksites while some essential functions of this position may be eligible for work from home authorization in accordance with policy. Remote work authorization is not automatic and is dependent upon operational needs and agency approval.

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
