Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer - Cloud & Developer Experience based in Netherlands.

As a Senior Platform Engineer - Cloud & Developer Experience, you will play a pivotal role in designing and evolving the cloud platform that enables engineering and research teams to innovate efficiently at scale. This hands-on position combines cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, security, and developer experience to build reliable, self-service platform capabilities. Working in a remote-first, collaborative environment, you will establish engineering standards, create reusable infrastructure, and deliver scalable solutions that empower technical teams while ensuring security, performance, and operational excellence. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the foundation of a modern cloud-native platform supporting cutting-edge AI and data-driven innovation.

Accountabilities
  • Design, build, and maintain the organization's cloud infrastructure, including networking, identity management, core services, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
  • Develop self-service platform capabilities and internal developer tools that enable engineering teams to provision infrastructure, deploy applications, and manage resources independently.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks to support reliable software delivery across cloud and customer environments.
  • Implement secure-by-design infrastructure by integrating identity and access management, secrets management, least-privilege principles, and network security into platform services.
  • Establish platform architecture standards, engineering best practices, and governance processes while promoting reusable, product-oriented platform solutions.
  • Improve platform observability by implementing monitoring, alerting, logging, and cost optimization strategies that enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering and research teams to support scalable cloud infrastructure and continuously improve the developer experience.
  • Drive automation initiatives that simplify operations, increase platform reliability, and accelerate software delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating production cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Strong expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform; experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling, including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Flux, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience implementing cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, secrets management, and least-privilege architectures.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPC architecture, private networking, DNS, load balancing, ingress/egress management, and network segmentation.
  • Strong programming skills using Python, Go, or another relevant language for infrastructure and automation.
  • Product-oriented platform engineering mindset with experience building reusable self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience working in remote, cross-functional environments.
  • Experience with observability platforms, GPU-based cloud workloads, regulated industries, startup environments, or open-source contributions is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity participation.
  • Fully remote working environment with flexible work arrangements.
  • Opportunity to shape and own foundational cloud platform architecture with significant technical autonomy.
  • Career growth opportunities at the intersection of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology.
  • Collaborative international team focused on innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous learning.
  • High-impact role with the opportunity to influence platform strategy and engineering standards.
  • Modern engineering environment that encourages ownership, experimentation, and long-term professional development.
