Job description

Location:

Remote/Work from Home – Eastern United States

Preference given to candidates currently living in New Jersey, Maryland, and Northern Virginia

Salary range:

$108,000 - $140,000, depending upon experience

Company car provided

Travel:

At least 50% of the time

 

 

What work will you perform?

The Corporate Account Executive grows and protects strategic enterprise customer relationships by using consultative, value-based selling to align customer needs, agent capabilities, and Landstar solutions that drive profitable revenue growth. You will use your experience in managing sales cycles from discovery through close to achieve sales goals.  The ability to travel as required and document sales activity in the CRM (Salesforce preferred) will be paramount to your success. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Grow, retain, and protect strategic enterprise accounts by delivering profitable new opportunities, account expansion, retention, and increased share of wallet across Landstar modes.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, agents, and internal leaders through consistent engagement, follow-up, business reviews, and cross-sell collaboration.
  • Lead complex sales cycles from discovery through close by aligning customer needs, pricing, operations, stakeholder priorities, and executive decision criteria.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans with clear priorities, measurable actions, stakeholder alignment, and a credible path to close.
  • Maintain Salesforce discipline, pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, timely leadership visibility, next steps, and account activity to support accountability.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitive trends to identify account risks, growth opportunities, and actions that protect long-term customer value.
  • Use approved AI and digital tools to improve research, preparation, follow-up, communication quality, productivity, and customer engagement while protecting confidential information.
  • Support agent recruiting, onboarding, development, customer engagement, and strategic business reviews as needed.

Required Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, marketing, communications, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of experience to include:
    • 5 years of B2B sales, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or strategic account management experience
    • 5 years of experience managing sales cycles from discovery through close

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • 7 years of experience in enterprise sales, strategic account management, logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience.
  • 7 years of experience managing large, complex, multi-location, or national accounts with executive-level decision makers.
  • 7 years of experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform to manage account plans, pipeline health, opportunity stages, customer engagement, and forecast accuracy.
  • 7 years of experience applying consultative selling, value-based selling, solution selling, or formal sales methodologies in B2B environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Executive presence with strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Consultative selling ability, including discovery, business issue identification, solution alignment, and value articulation.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect logistics solutions to customer objectives, financial impact, and operational performance.
  • Ability to manage strategic account plans, complex sales cycles, proposals, negotiations, and customer business reviews.
  • Disciplined CRM, pipeline management, forecasting, reporting, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, virtual meeting tools, dashboards, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems, pipeline management, sales forecasting, and account activity tracking.
  • Ability to build trusted customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and deliver measurable revenue results.
  • Strong understanding of transportation, logistics, supply chain operations, pricing, contracts, procurement processes, and customer business reviews.
  • Ability to exceed sales goals, expand share of wallet, protect strategic accounts, and create long-term customer value.
