Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm

What work will you perform?

The Contract Freight Account manager is responsible for providing superior customer service to our valued customers while managing all assigned accounts. In this role you will provide customer support, load tenders, status updates and other operational functions to your stakeholders. Your strengths in relationship building will help ensure you develop the necessary relationships with capacity providers to achieve load goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of assigned customer accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for operational and service-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support retention, growth, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Drive revenue growth within existing accounts by identifying opportunities and supporting customer business objectives.
  • Oversee daily transportation operations for assigned accounts, ensuring loads are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Ensure adequate transportation capacity and coverage to support customer demand and service commitments.
  • Monitor shipment performance and proactively address service disruptions, escalations, and operational challenges.
  • Analyze customer, carrier, and operational performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance service and operational results.
  • Manage account-level financial activities, including ad-hoc pricing, rate negotiations, and accessorial approvals.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, reporting, and transportation management system data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support customer needs, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in testing, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies, systems, and operational tools prior to company-wide deployment, providing feedback and partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors as needed.
  • Adapt workflows and processes to effectively incorporate new tools, technologies, and business initiatives.
  • Represent the Account Management function by hosting and supporting internal visitors, business partners, and stakeholders seeking insight into the agent and customer experience.

Required Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience in the transportation industry

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • 2 years of experience in transportation brokerage/account management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Microsoft Office skills
