Job description

Zachery Piper Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer to support a high-visibility U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) prototype initiative. You will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business supporting both federal and commercial clients in a fully remote role.

The Technical Writer will play a key role in ensuring all project deliverables are accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and meet USCG documentation requirements. This position requires an Active Secret Clearance to be considered for the role Responsibilities of the Technical Writer include: * Develop, organize, and maintain all technical documentation throughout the prototype lifecycle. * Document system architecture, design decisions, deployment procedures, and testing results.

* Ensure all written materials align with USCG technical standards and formatting requirements. * Translate complex technical inputs into concise, actionable documentation for diverse audiences. * Contribute to configuration guides, design overviews, risk assessments, and transition deliverables.

* Support the creation and delivery of design artifacts, system overviews, and related project materials. Qualifications for the Technical Writer include: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience. * 5-8 years of experience in technical writing within a technical, engineering, or federal environment.

* Proven experience developing and editing user manuals, SOPs, system documentation, proposals/RFP responses, and knowledge-base articles. * Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear, structured, and accessible documentation. * Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.

* Active Secret Clearance. Compensation for the Technical Writer includes: * Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 * Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, PTO, and sick leave (as required by law).
