Job description

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across Operations and Engineering, including IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Content Engineering, Digital Platforms, and Broadcast Engineering. This role manages projects from initiation through implementation, partnering closely with technical leadership and business stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives that align with organizational priorities. Media industry experience is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously from planning through execution and successful delivery.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and dependencies while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Identify and proactively resolve project risks, issues, and roadblocks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Product, Finance, Cybersecurity, and executive stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

  • Coordinate resources across multiple departments and vendors.

  • Facilitate project meetings, requirements gathering, steering committees, and executive status reviews.

PMO Excellence

  • Apply PMO standards, governance processes, and project management best practices.

  • Mentor junior project managers and project coordinators.

  • Recommend process improvements that increase project delivery effectiveness.

  • Drive adoption of consistent project management methodologies across assigned initiatives.

Financial & Portfolio Management

  • Track project budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures.

  • Monitor project performance against approved timelines and financial plans.

  • Support project prioritization and resource planning in partnership with department leadership.

  • Prepare executive-level reporting on project health, milestones, risks, and budget status.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent industry training 

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a Project Manager role. 

  • Minimum 3 years recent exposure and experience in a Technology environment.

  • Deep understanding of Project Management tools and approaches and the ability to utilize them to manage complex projects.

  • Experience managing budgets preferred

  • Media industry experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications.

  • Ability to drive projects from planning through execution while mitigating risks and ensuring successful delivery.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated technical and personal leadership in a technology based environment.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent initiatives.

  • Comfort managing resources both onsite and in remote locations.

  • Ability to work closely with customers in defining requirements.

  • Ability to provide positive reinforcement and motivation to team members.

  • Ability to establish and maintain high standards, remain calm and make rational decisions during critical situations and to give and receive feedback openly and objectively.

  • Ability to research problems before taking action.

  • Ability to act with the appropriate spirit and commitment to company, department, and team goals.
