Job description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Specialist with extensive knowledge of both nonprofit and for-profit healthcare taxation, with a strong emphasis on nonprofit hospital systems. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while supporting strategic tax planning across a complex healthcare organization.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in tax-exempt healthcare organizations, including IRS regulations governing nonprofit hospitals, community benefit reporting, unrelated business income tax (UBIT), and healthcare-specific tax matters. Experience with physician groups, joint ventures, taxable subsidiaries, and other healthcare entities is highly desirable.

SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED
  • Strong experience with nonprofit hospital taxation.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing IRS Form 990 and Form 990T.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations affecting nonprofit and forprofit healthcare organizations.
  • Experience researching complex tax issues and interpreting tax legislation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
