Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering & Product Architecture - Plymouth, MN - Remote
Daikin Applied is seeking a highly skilled and motivatedPrincipal Engineer - Systems Engineering & Product Architectureto lead a cross-functional team focused on designing, developing, and integrating cutting-edge products. This role requires a deep understanding of system engineering principles, product architecture, and cross-functional leadership. Your Responsibilities:
- Define system-level architecture, requirements, and specifications to meet business and customer needs
- Ensure end-to-end system integration and performance optimization across hardware and software
- Collaborate with product management to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Drive system design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations
- Maintain alignment between system architecture and product roadmap to ensure scalability and future-proofing
- Implement best practices in system engineering, model-based design, and architectural frameworks
- Work cross-functionally with software, hardware, and quality teams to ensure timely and successful product development
- Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for team members
- Oversee documentation, standards compliance, and technical reporting
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, product architecture, or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of system design, integration, and lifecycle management
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
- Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and requirements management tools
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and cross-functional team coordination
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to travel to MN one week per month (on average)
Your Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industries such as HVAC, aerospace, automotive, appliances, etc
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to system design
- Certification in systems engineering (INCOSE CSEP, ESEP) or related fields desirable

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from$130,400- $225,700 (plus a 25% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
