Job description

Job Description Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Senior Java Developer at our client in Minneapolis, MN. Our client is seeking an experienced Java/Spring Boot Developer with strong core Java fundamentals and hands-on expertise in Kafka. This Senior-level Java/Spring Boot Developer will have a strong focus on API and event-driven development within a large enterprise banking environment.

The team is looking for engineers with 7-10+ years of experience building scalable backend systems and high-performance microservices. The ideal background includes: Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience REST API and microservices architecture expertise Hands-on experience with Kafka or webhook/event-driven streaming integrations Banking or financial services industry experience Experience with OpenShift (OCP), Docker, or similar cloud/container platforms Familiarity with Jira, GitHub, Azure, and enterprise DevOps environments Strong SQL/database experience, ideally with high-performance platforms like MemSQL/SingleStore The team is focused on building and optimizing scalable services, streaming pipelines, and enterprise integrations while partnering closely with architecture, DevOps, and product teams. They're looking for developers who can own the full lifecycle from design and development through deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Must be able to be in office 4 days/week. The base range for this contract position is $70-$100 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S
