Pharmacy IT Systems Analyst – Epic Willow Inpatient (Remote)


Compensation: $113,900–$170,851 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
Work Schedule: Remote opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy IT Systems Analyst specializing in Epic Willow Inpatient to support and optimize pharmacy information systems within a healthcare environment. This role is ideal for a pharmacist or healthcare IT professional with strong clinical pharmacy knowledge, Epic Willow Inpatient expertise, and experience translating operational needs into technology solutions.

The Pharmacy IT Systems Analyst will serve as a key connection between pharmacy operations, clinical teams, and information technology by analyzing business needs, defining system requirements, implementing enhancements, and supporting enterprise clinical applications. The successful candidate will help ensure pharmacy systems effectively support safe medication management, efficient workflows, and high-quality patient care.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where clinical expertise and healthcare technology intersect to improve outcomes and operational performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze pharmacy and clinical operational needs to identify opportunities for system improvements
  • Define requirements and develop solutions that align healthcare technology with departmental workflows
  • Support implementation, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Willow Inpatient applications
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot assigned clinical pharmacy applications and related workflows
  • Partner with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, clinical leaders, and IT teams to evaluate system functionality and improvements
  • Provide application support and resolve user issues involving clinical and pharmacy technology solutions
  • Assess application functionality and recommend enhancements to improve safety, efficiency, and user experience
  • Participate in system testing, validation, upgrades, and implementation activities
  • Develop and maintain end-user documentation, training materials, and workflow resources
  • Provide education and support to end users regarding system functionality and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify workflow improvements, reduce inefficiencies, and support departmental goals
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient, employee, and financial information
  • Participate in team initiatives focused on improving healthcare technology solutions and clinical operations


Required Qualifications

  • Epic Willow Inpatient certification required
  • Bachelor’s degree, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or equivalent pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
  • Active pharmacist license preferred with a minimum of 1 year of licensed pharmacist experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical or administrative healthcare information systems experience
  • Experience supporting pharmacy information systems or clinical applications in a healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication management processes
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an Epic Willow Inpatient Analyst, Pharmacy Informatics Specialist, or Clinical Applications Analyst
  • Experience with Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization, or application support
  • Background in pharmacy operations combined with healthcare IT experience
  • Experience with clinical workflow analysis, system testing, and end-user support
  • Experience creating training materials and supporting user adoption of healthcare applications
