What We're Looking For:
TSTC is seeking a contingent hire for a full-time Information Systems Security Officer to support a new contract at USCG.  Contingent Upon Award. The anticipated award for this contract is March 2026.
 
The ISSO will be responsible for creating, revising, documenting, and maintaining the overall security related policies, procedures, laws, and regulations with the team; as well as creating, documenting, and implementing various security plans and compliance documents to enforce Information Assurance principles with the team. The ISSO will assist with assessment, development and implementation of programs and controls set in place to preserve the integrity and security of sensitive data and information stored and processed by various network systems. The ISSO will review client/department information security systems and recommend improvements/solutions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an ISSO supporting major federal information systems/applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • DoD IAT II certification Required - (Sec+CE, CySA, SSCP, GSEC, etc)
  • DoD IAM II certification strongly preferred (CISSP, CISA, etc)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Project for planning, tracking, and reporting security tasks and remediation activities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Project Managers and Product Owners to deconflict, scope, plan, and execute continuous monitoring and security efforts.
  • At least 3 years of experience performing vulnerability assessments, including use of ACAS scans to evaluate compliance with STIGs and identify system vulnerabilities.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and drive security plan changes and improvements to maintain NIST compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, assess risks, and prioritize security tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey deadlines, risks, and remediation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge with auditing security controls
  • Superior writing, communication, and critical analysis skills.
  • Skilled in MS office suite
  • Works independently, proactively identifies, and completes task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Security Clearance & Where You'll Work
  • Applicants selected must be a U.S. Citizen and currently hold a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • This position is onsite in Suitland Maryland
