Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an ISSO Lead to support a company focused on cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance for federal missions. This position is on-site at Washington, DC. The ISSO Lead will oversee certification and accreditation efforts, manage ATO processes, and ensure systems meet strict federal security requirements. This role directly supports mission-critical national security initiatives by strengthening the security posture of classified environments.
Responsibilities for the ISSO Lead include:
• Lead Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and manage ATO lifecycle documentation
• Oversee POA&M management, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediation efforts
• Maintain and update security documentation, configuration management, and access control processes
• Coordinate incident response activities, security testing, and continuous monitoring initiatives
• Develop cybersecurity policies, training materials, and communicate risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
Required Qualifications for the ISSO Lead include:
• 5+ years of experience in information system security, A&A, and risk management within a federal environment
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and tools aligned to NIST, FISMA, and related compliance standards
• Strong skills in risk assessment, incident response, security documentation, and stakeholder communication
• Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience) in cybersecurity, IT, or related field
• Active Top Secret clearance (within 5 years) or DOE Q clearance
Compensation for the ISSO Lead include:
Salary Range: $150,000-170,000
