Job description

Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.
This role is responsible for leading enterprise-scale intelligent automation initiatives, with primary expertise in Automation Anywhere OR UiPath, driving architecture, delivery, and governance of RPA and AI-enabled automation solutions. The IT Manager will function as a hands-on technical leader, managing a team of developers and architects while partnering with business, enterprise architecture, and AI teams to design and implement scalable automation solutions. The role requires strong experience in AI-driven automation, including document processing, generative AI, and agentic workflows, along with a proven track record of delivering multiple large-scale automation programs across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
  • Define and execute enterprise automation strategy using Automation Anywhere OR UiPath
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of automation programs from discovery through deployment and support
  • Identify and prioritize automation opportunities across business units aligned to ROI and efficiency goals
  • Design and govern scalable automation architectures, frameworks, and reusable components
  • Act as the technical authority for Automation Anywhere OR UiPath platforms, including orchestration and bot lifecycle management
  • Conduct solution design reviews, code reviews, and enforce development standards and best practices
  • Integrate automation solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, data platforms, and AI/ML services
  • Drive implementation of AI-powered automation use cases including document processing, NLP workflows, and intelligent decisioning
  • Leverage platform-native AI capabilities such as AI copilots, document AI, and generative AI integrations
  • Enable hybrid automation combining RPA, AI agents, and human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, architects, and analysts, ensuring high-quality delivery and technical excellence
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Establish and scale automation CoE practices including governance, standards, and operating models
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise SDLC, security, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and reporting frameworks for automation performance and stability
  • Drive platform standardization and reduction of tool sprawl across the enterprise
  • Promote citizen development with appropriate guardrails and governance
  • Continuously optimize automation solutions for performance, scalability, and resilience
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to align on roadmap, capabilities, and innovation

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineering
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineering
Preferred qualifications:
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise automation solutions using Automation Anywhere OR UiPath
  • Strong hands-on expertise in automation architecture, bot development, and orchestration
  • Experience implementing AI-integrated automation including document processing, NLP, or generative AI
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and integration within automation workflows
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and enterprise system integrations
  • Programming experience in Python, .NET, or similar technologies
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing large-scale automation programs
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience with process mining, task mining, or workflow orchestration platforms
  • Automation Anywhere certification (Advanced RPA Professional or equivalent) OR UiPath certification (Developer, Advanced Developer, or Solution Architect)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and AI services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Experience building or scaling automation Center of Excellence (CoE) models

If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $102,391 and $150,000.
