Job summary

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the Health and Pharmacy Analytics team by ensuring data integrity, delivering actionable insights, and driving operational excellence. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to optimize workflows and enhance client reporting. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable to evolving technologies, and committed to continuous improvement in data processes and visualization, while contributing to strategic initiatives such as enterprise data modernization.

The starting salary for this position begins at $72,500. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market considerations.

This is a remote position with travel requirements. Must be able to travel for meetings, training, conferences, and/or client visits approximately 2-4 times annually, including occasional overnight stays.

This role is U.S.-based and operates primarily within Eastern Time Zone. We have a preference in states where we currently employ team members, including Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania.

Summary of essential job functions/responsibilities

Data Management and Integration

  • Manage end-to-end client data ingestion, transformation, and deployment into secure cloud-based data warehouses
  • Oversee onboarding of new client data feeds and maintain implementation documentation
  • Collaborate with IT for secure data transfers and system enhancements
  • Implement data retention and privacy protocols in collaboration with the Privacy team
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Design and optimize enterprise-level data workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Support enterprise migration to modern data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption

Reporting and Data Visualization

  • Convert complex datasets into actionable insights and client-friendly visualizations
  • Maintain and deploy data visualizations (Power BI/Tableau) for internal and client use
  • Generate ad-hoc benefit and utilization reports to support client-specific requests
  • Build monthly, quarterly, and annual reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SQL-based custom analysis
  • Conduct annual benefit reconciliations to ensure compliance with carrier financial performance metrics
  • Conduct disruption reporting for proposed benefit changes
  • Partner with clinical teams and account managers to deliver actionable insights for benefit design and cost containment

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Conduct rigorous QA checks on client reporting metrics to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Develop scripts or workflows to automate recurring reporting and data validation tasks
  • Track KPIs for benefit programs and provide recommendations for optimization

Project and Process Support

  • Provide comprehensive support for RFP projects, including data preparation, validation, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables for cross-functional projects involving analytics and reporting.
  • Perform data cleansing, normalization, and validation for RFP submissions
  • Retrieve and validate Pharmacy Benefit Reports from internal systems to support Account Management and client deliverables

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; Computer Science, Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with large datasets and performing data validation, cleansing, transformation, and reconciliation activities
  • Proficient with SQL and other query-based technologies (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL), with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Knowledge of healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), prescription drug claims, health plan operations, or related healthcare data environments preferred
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements related to the collection, storage, and transmission of protected health information (PHI) preferred
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating stakeholder needs into analytical solutions preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity, with a proven ability to investigate data anomalies, challenge assumptions, ensure data accuracy and quality, and continuously improve processes
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence platforms
  • A demonstrated aptitude for learning new software applications, questioning, and exploring data abnormalities
  • Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; prioritize work independently; manage and meet multiple deadlines; work quickly with minimal supervision; show independent judgement, accuracy, and initiative
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change quickly
  • Able to demonstrate and always maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Must be able to function within a moderate noise level office environment
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, along with project and database management
