Must be capable of independently performing assigned financial and accounting functions. This is a remote position.

Position Summary:
The Project Accountant/Billing Specialist will support financial operations across a portfolio of projects. This role is responsible for managing key accounting functions including project setup, client invoicing, and ongoing cost and revenue analysis. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking, timely billing, and compliance with company and client requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with contract terms, listing items sold and services performed, amounts due, credit terms, and dates of performance
  • Project initiation, maintenance, and closeout in Oracle
  • Prepare rate recalculations and cost data analysis, post invoices, credits, and adjustments into Oracle
  • Prepare project cost, revenue, unbilled/unearned reconciliations, and analysis
  • Provide ad-hoc reports for internal and external customers as requested
  • Responsible for maintenance of all financial records for assigned projects
  • Assist with and attend quarterly project reviews
  • Provide accounting and financial support to management, including financial reports and account analysis
  • Serve as contact for selected clients on the collection of accounts receivable
  • Complete special projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree/Certificate in Accounting Principles
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Previous project cost accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a remote, office-based environment
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and phone
  • Ability to view and review detailed financial information on a screen with close visual acuity
  • Occasional standing, walking, and reaching as needed

  • Work is primarily performed in a sedentary setting with standard office equipment
  • Routine use of computers and digital systems for extended periods
