Remote Internal Recruiter information

What is a remote internal recruiter?

A Remote Internal Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring candidates for a company while working remotely. They focus on filling internal roles within the organization rather than recruiting for external clients. Their duties include collaborating with hiring managers, posting job openings, conducting interviews, and managing the hiring process. Strong communication, organizational skills, and experience with applicant tracking systems are essential for success in this role.

What does a remote internal recruiter do?

A typical day for a Remote Internal Recruiter involves sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, and managing communication through digital channels such as email and video calls. You may also spend time updating the applicant tracking system, conducting reference checks, and participating in virtual team meetings to discuss hiring priorities. The role often requires balancing multiple open positions at once, so strong time-management and prioritization skills are essential. Regular collaboration with various internal stakeholders ensures alignment with company objectives and helps create a positive candidate experience. Working remotely provides flexibility but also requires proactive communication and self-motivation to succeed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote internal recruiter?

To thrive as a Remote Internal Recruiter, you need a strong grasp of talent acquisition strategies, candidate sourcing, and interview techniques, often supported by a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HR software, and recruitment platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter is essential, as is an understanding of data privacy regulations. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to build rapport remotely are key soft skills that set top performers apart. These competencies are vital for efficiently identifying, attracting, and securing high-quality talent while collaborating seamlessly with remote teams.

Job description

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Director, Internal Audit to join our Strategic Finance team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role:

The Director, Internal Audit plays a critical role in advancing and refining our IA function as we shape the future, create insights and enhance operations. You will develop and execute the internal audit (IA) plan, working with the Vice President, Internal Audit & Enterprise Risk. We are looking for regular interaction with senior management.

You will report into the VP, Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk.

Work Location: This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Hartford, CT. You will be fully remote; however, our approach to work may adapt over time. Future models could potentially involve a hybrid presence at the hub office associated with your metro area. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $180,504 - $236,911 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Along with the VP, Internal Audit & Enterprise Risks, assist in shaping and executing the IA strategic roadmap and in maturing the IA function
  • Participate in enterprise risk assessment effort, with the VP, Internal Audit
  • Lead the effort in developing and executing the annual risk-based internal audit plan, including the internal audit reports
  • Provide advisory services and insights to the business partners on risk and internal controls
  • Collaborate with other corporate risk and control functions (e.g. Security GRC, Privacy, Compliance, SOX) to ensure activities are coordinated and where possible, leveraged
  • Help develop the material for Audit Committee reporting
  • Present findings and recommendations and articulate risks and implications to management
  • Develop relationships with business partners to understand functions, processes, potential risks and influence the risk mitigation efforts
  • Develop training programs for IA team members and ensure compliance with IIA standards
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related fields
  • 10+ years experience in internal audit or a similar role, in Big4 or public companies
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience (healthcare, insurance, and / or technology)
  • 4+ years experience in managing teams of internal resources or consultants

Bonus points:

  • Insurance and healthcare
  • Finance and Accounting understanding
  • Relevant certifications such as CIA, CPA, CISA or equivalent
  • Data & analytics
