Purpose: The Professional Education Manager within the Interventional and Surgery platform, is responsible for developing and managing educational programs aimed at healthcare professionals to ensure effective utilization of products and adherence to industry standards. This role focuses on the planning and execution of educational programs at the national and regional levels for all healthcare professional learners (beginning, intermediate, advanced, specialized).
Key responsibilities:
  • Program Development and Implementation: Design and execute comprehensive training programs for healthcare providers, sales teams, and internal staff, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, medical office, physician program directors and R&D, to develop educational content that supports product launches and ongoing education initiatives.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the creation of training materials, such as presentations, videos, and manuals, ensuring they are up-to-date and effectively address the needs of the target audience.
  • Performance Evaluation: Develop and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness of educational programs, making data-driven decisions to enhance content and delivery methods.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all educational activities comply with industry regulations and company policies, maintaining high standards of quality and ethics.

Job Qualifications:
  • BA/BS required. MBS or MBA preferred.
  • 4 or more successful years of sales or professional education experience within Abiomed OR >7 years of related industry sales experience with proven track record of success
  • Must be able to travel overnight extensively, including overnight and weekend stays to conduct training sessions and attend industry events (50%)
  • Ability to use PC's and associated software. Excel, power point and graphic design skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with experience in delivering presentations and training sessions to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
  • Mastery of cardiac anatomy and clinical data.

The salary range pay for this position $117,000 - $234,000

  • Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
  • Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
  • Condolence Leave - 30 days for an immediate family member: 5 days for an extended family member

  • Volunteer Leave - 4 days
