Optum Financial is seeking a highly strategic and technically oriented Senior Product Manager, Platform Services & Third-Party Capabilities to lead the product strategy, integration, governance, and optimization of critical third-party capabilities that power the next generation Payments 2.0 and CCS 2.0 platforms.

This role is responsible for defining and managing the ecosystem of external platform services that enable onboarding, payments, communications, compliance, document generation, identity verification, and intelligent workflow automation. The Senior Product Manager will own product strategy and lifecycle management for key platform partners and capabilities including:

  • AI-assisted data mapping and transformation solutions (e.g., Datuum.ai)
  • Document composition and communication generation platforms (e.g., Quadient)
  • KYB/KYC and fraud prevention solutions (e.g., Wells Fargo Early Warning, SOVOS, and related providers)
  • Email delivery platforms
  • SMS messaging platforms
  • Digital communication services
  • Workflow automation services
  • Third-party APIs and platform services supporting Payments 2.0 and CCS 2.0

The individual will serve as the bridge between Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Compliance, Operations, Vendor Management, and Business stakeholders to ensure platform services are scalable, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with Optum Financial's AI-native and API-first platform strategy.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Platform Services & Product Strategy
    • Define and execute the roadmap for third-party platform services supporting Payments 20 and CCS 20, including capability vision, adoption, success metrics, and build-vs-buy decisions
    • Manage the full lifecycle of platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term product strategy
  • AI-Powered Onboarding & Data Transformation
    • Own AI-driven onboarding, file mapping, and data transformation capabilities to improve implementation efficiency and reduce time-to-value
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, AI, and Data Science teams to expand automation, intelligent mapping, and transformation services
  • Communications & Document Services
    • Lead strategy for document generation, digital communications, and customer messaging platforms, including remittances, notifications, and multi-channel communications
    • Ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, API-enabled, and aligned to customer experience and modernization goals
  • Compliance, Verification & Risk Services
    • Manage third-party KYB, KYC, identity verification, sanctions screening, tax validation, fraud, and compliance solutions
    • Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver efficient and compliant onboarding and verification experiences
  • Vendor & Platform Partnerships
    • Serve as Product Owner for strategic platform providers, managing vendor performance, roadmaps, governance, contracts, and investment decisions
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and partnerships to enhance platform capabilities and accelerate delivery
  • Integration, Reliability & Governance
    • Define API-first integration strategies, reusable onboarding frameworks, and scalable integration patterns
    • Establish platform KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting to monitor adoption, reliability, operational performance, and business value

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years of Product Management, Platform Product Management, Technical Product Management, or Solution Management experience
  • Experience managing third-party technology integrations and vendor-delivered capabilities
  • Experience working with SaaS providers, partner ecosystems, and external platform services
  • Proven experience leading large-scale platform modernization, digital transformation, or migration initiatives, including replacing legacy systems, implementing new technologies, and driving organizational adoption
  • Previous experience overseeing integrations, operational processes, and productization of third-party technologies
  • Solid understanding of API-first platforms and modern integration architectures
  • Financial & Payment Domain Depth
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Proven solid cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare payments, commercial payments, fintech, banking, treasury, or financial services
  • Experience supporting:
    • Document composition platforms
    • Communication platforms
    • KYC/KYB solutions
    • Fraud prevention systems
    • Data transformation platforms
    • Payment onboarding solutions
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise platform modernization initiatives
  • Knowledge of ACH, Virtual Card, payment orchestration, remittance, settlement, reconciliation, and enrollment workflows
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted onboarding and intelligent data mapping technologies

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
