Position Summary

The Intake Specialist serves as the front door of the patient journey by transforming referrals into clean, complete, and ready-to-treat patient starts. This role partners closely with provider offices, pharmacy, authorization teams, and patient care coordinators to ensure referrals move efficiently while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

What You'll DoAc

  • Process incoming patient referrals accurately and efficiently
  • Enter patient demographics and referral information into company systems
  • Review referrals for completeness and obtain missing documentation
  • Register new patients and create therapy records
  • Communicate with physician offices regarding referral requirements
  • Coordinate referrals with pharmacy, benefits, and authorization teams
  • Track referral-to-start timelines and proactively remove delays
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
  • Escalate complex or incomplete referrals appropriately
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and internal teams


Requirements
  • 3+ years of healthcare intake, referral management, or specialty pharmacy experience
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Demonstrated process improvement and quality leadership
  • Advanced knowledge of referral management and patient onboarding
  • Ability to independently manage referral workflows
  • Strong documentation and provider communication skills
  • Infusion, specialty pharmacy, or biologics experience preferred
