Our client, a leading organization in the automotive and manufacturing industry, is seeking a dedicated I-9 Document Verification Coordinator to join their team. As an I-9 Document Verification Coordinator, you will be an essential part of the onboarding support team, ensuring compliance with employment eligibility verification processes.
Job Title: I-9 Document Verification Coordinator
Location: Complete remote
Pay Range: $17.50 per hour
What's the Job?
  • Conduct scheduled video-based document reviews via Microsoft Teams with new hires within required legal timeframes.
  • Examine original identity and work authorization documents presented by employees, confirming they appear genuine and relate to the individual.
  • Accurately record document details and complete Section 2 in GM systems (e.g., Workday and/or designated I-9 platforms), following standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure all Section 2 verifications align with USCIS, DHS, and E-Verify requirements, including use of acceptable documents and photo requirements where applicable.
  • Follow standard work, checklists, and quality controls to minimize errors, late completions, and rework, escalating issues as needed.
