In this role, youโ€™ll play a key part in supporting individuals and families throughout South Georgia with compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services.

The Controller is responsible for the overall accounting operations of Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia (Legacy), including the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and development and monitoring of internal controls designed to mitigate risk, safeguard assets, enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial information, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), applicable regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

The Controller serves as a key financial partner to the CFO and operational leadership by monitoring financial performance, supporting effective budget management, strengthening accounting processes and internal controls, and ensuring that financial information supports sound operational and programmatic decision-making.

The programmer will be supervised by the IT Director

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on accounting
  • At least 3 years of financial management experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled, and humidity-controlled environment. May be requested on occasion to travel to trainings, conferences, and meetings as an organization representative. May be requested to travel within the sites in the organization. Ability to perform remote work from home office. Maybe exposed to infectious diseases.

Work Environment: Sit, walk, and stand, may spend up to twenty-five percent of working time standing/walking. Lift, carry, push, pull generally, not more than 20 pounds. Bend, stoop, and kneel; occasional bending and kneeling may be required in troubleshooting equipment. Manual dexterity/wrist and hand repetitions: good manual and finger dexterity is needed; up to fifty percent of working time may be spent using a computer keyboard. Vision, hearing, speaking, must have good visual acuity and depth perception to operate the computer system; speaking and hearing are essential to the communication needs of the position. Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with crisis situations. Occasional travel to off campus locations using LBHS vehicle may be required
