Job Description Our client is hiring for a Controller in an insurance environment. This is a hands-on leadership role within a lean organization, responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and treasury functions. The position requires the ability to partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings both technical expertise and a proactive, process-improvement mindset. The role is fully in office but has an incredible work/life balance. Responsibilities: Lead month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare GAAP and statutory financial statements, including NAIC filings Manage general ledger activities, cash flow, banking relationships, and oversee premium collections, claims, and reinsurance settlements Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations, maintain internal controls, and serve as primary contact for auditors and regulators Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, tax provisions, and process improvements Qualifications: 7+ years of accounting or finance experience, including leadership in insurance or financial services Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting, including NAIC requirements Experience with treasury management, regulatory compliance, and financial statement preparation CPA or equivalent certification preferred with strong analytical and communication skills.
