Job description

Syllo is a software company in the legal space that offers an AI-powered litigation workspace
that enables lawyers to safely harness the power of language models. After spending years
developing our cloud-based application, Syllo's platform is now used by a wide range of legal
professionals - from the largest law firms in the world to the most prestigious law schools.
We are a lean, fast-moving, and multi-disciplinary company led by exceptional lawyers and
engineers. We hold each other accountable to achieve ambitious goals in a timely way while
treating one another with respect and understanding. If you're excited about AI and passionate
about being part of a remote team that seeks to transform the legal practice, then read on!
We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join the training department. In this role, you own
the architecture of Syllo Academy: the LMS infrastructure, the curriculum design standards that
every piece of training content must meet, the production of video and multimedia assets, and
the certification program that validates client proficiency. You will be the operational and
creative backbone of the training department, and the quality of everything the department
ships runs through you.
Key responsibilities
Architect and continuously improve Syllo Academy - defining the structure, navigation,
and learner experience for all client-facing and internal training content
Administer the LMS, including user management, content organization, course
publishing, reporting configuration, and integration with other Syllo systems
Establish and maintain curriculum design standards for the training department,
including templates, style guides, and quality review checklists that govern content
output
Produce video and multimedia training assets - screen recordings, narrated
walkthroughs, interactive exercises, and knowledge checks - working from scripts and
outlines provided by subject matter experts
Develop, maintain, and score certification exams that validate user proficiency on Syllo's
platform
Own learning analytics: configure dashboards, generate reports on completion,
assessment performance, and engagement, and surface insights to the training team
and client-facing stakeholders
Manage the production pipeline for new training content as Syllo ships product releases,
coordinating with the training team subject matter experts to keep content current
Identify opportunities to improve the learner experience through A/B testing, feedback
loops, and analysis of engagement and performance data
Qualifications
Note: this is a wish list. Please do not hesitate to apply if you only have some of these
qualifications, especially if you come from a less traditional background. We value both current
skills and proven potential, and will give you an opportunity to present your best foot forward
as part of our hiring process.
3+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or a directly
related role in a SaaS or technology environment
Demonstrated experience administering an LMS (such as Docebo, Absorb, Cornerstone,
or similar) at the system level - not just publishing content
Proficiency with video and multimedia production tools such as Camtasia, Articulate,
Adobe Captivate, or equivalent
Experience developing assessments and certification programs, including item writing,
rubric design, and pass/fail calibration
Working knowledge of learning analytics - familiarity with SCORM or xAPI, and comfort
configuring and interpreting reporting dashboards
Strong project management and production workflow skills; you can run a content
pipeline across multiple contributors and deadlines
Experience designing for legal or compliance audiences is a plus, as is exposure to AI-
powered software products
Capabilities
Systems thinking: you see the Academy as a whole and you manage all of it as a
connected system
Craft: you produce learning assets that are clear, well-paced, and genuinely useful to
legal professionals
Standards discipline: you establish design standards and hold the department to them
consistently
Analytical orientation: you use data to identify what's working and what isn't, and you
act on it
Collaboration: you work effectively with subject matter experts and others on the team
Compensation will be negotiated based on your qualifications and experience, with a salary
range of $105K - $130K, with potential for a higher range for exceptional candidates.
