Join Our Team as a District Manager - Handheld, Midwest US at Epiroc!

The District Manager - Handheld is responsible for driving sales performance, dealer execution, and customer engagement for Epiroc's hydraulic handheld tool portfolio across a defined territory in the Southeast United States.

This role serves as the primary commercial point of contact for dealers and end users within the territory, focused on executing the handheld go-to-market strategy at the district level. The District Manager works closely with dealers, National Account Manager, and internal partners to grow core handheld product sales, expand aftermarket penetration, and ensure consistent market representation.

The role requires a strong field presence, disciplined territory management, and the ability to translate national and regional strategies into effective local execution.

Work Type: This position is remote and open to candidates located within the United States, specifically those residing in the territory (ND, SD, NE, IA, MN, WI, IL). This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship 

Responsibilities:

Territory & Dealer Management

  • Develop and execute a district territory plan to grow handheld tools sales and market share across assigned states.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with dealer principals, sales teams, and service organizations.
  • Partner with dealers to establish structured business plans, performance targets, and growth initiatives for handheld tools.
  • Support dealer onboarding, product training, and field demonstrations to strengthen product knowledge and confidence.
  • Ensure consistent representation of Epiroc's handheld portfolio across dealer channels and customer segments.

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Meet or exceed annual handheld sales targets through proactive territory management and solution-based selling.
  • Drive growth across both core handheld products and aftermarket offerings, increasing service, parts, and rebuild penetration.
  • Identify new business opportunities with end users in construction, rail, utilities, and infrastructure markets.
  • Support pricing strategies, promotions, and tactical programs to maximize revenue and margin performance.
  • Maintain accurate pipelines, forecasts, and opportunity tracking through disciplined CRM usage.

Collaboration, Execution & Market Presence

  • Partner with National Account Manager to support local execution of national handheld programs and customer agreements.
  • Coordinate dealer and end-user activity to ensure alignment between national strategies and district-level execution.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Aftermarket, and Operations teams to deliver effective handheld solutions.
  • Maintain regular field presence with dealers and customers to build relationships, uncover opportunities, and address issues.
  • Gather customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights to inform regional and segment strategy.
  • Support trade shows, customer events, and product demonstrations to strengthen brand visibility.
  • Provide regular updates to the Sales Manager, Handheld on territory performance, opportunities, and risks.

Knowledge/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in territory sales, dealer management, or business development within industrial tools, construction equipment, or related industries.
  • Experience selling or supporting hydraulic handheld tools or similar equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) within the Southeast U.S.; proximity to a major airport preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage multi-state territories and drive consistent sales execution through dealer channels.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based role with strong time and territory management discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain eRailSafe certification, where required.

Work Environment: This is a remote, field-based position requiring frequent travel throughout the Southeast US Work environments may include dealer facilities, customer jobsites, rail yards, utility locations, and outdoor industrial settings. Compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. This position may be considered safety sensitive.

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $80,000 and $90,000 base annually plus commission and car allowance, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards.
