Job Description:

The Informatics Data Analyst has primary responsibility for fully supporting the organization’s ongoing healthcare business intelligence and informatics initiatives. Responsible for the design and conduct of analyses related to measuring performance and status of programs, initiatives, processes, and partners, in compliance with state and federal regulations. Provides analytical interpretation of data for evaluation of clinical practices and the development of financial and contractual modeling. This role reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.

  • Supports the Informatics department and develops business processes and systems to ensure integrity of member data, establishing and maintaining data infrastructure systems.
  • Works with clinical and operations teams to identify clinical health status and economic outcome metrics for measurement and reporting.
  • Collaborates with Medical Management and Informatics staff in designing, building, conducting, and analyzing clinical and financial outcomes studies.
  • Works across departmental areas to create formal specifications for both internal and external reports in compliance with state and federal regulations for data exchanges/file feeds.
  • Conducts health data economic analysis for Operational, Medical Management, Finance, and Contracting/Network Development teams. Analyzes provider financial and clinical data to develop and produce physician performance reports.
  • Prepares state-required and departmental reports related to healthcare quality improvement initiatives including HEDIS and disease management programs.
  • Manages multiple data-related projects to completion across multiple departments.
  • Works with the Information Systems department to further develop data access tools and analyze the functionality of external products.
  • Manages databases and data warehouse, develops and supports new business applications, and implements a technical quality assurance process to ensure that all software development is properly specified, documented, tested, implemented, and feedback is received for improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Analysis, Data Processing, Healthcare Informatics, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline required
  • Formal informatics training preferred (SQL, SAS)
  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare quantitative analysis and application of advanced statistical techniques
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience in a healthcare setting
