Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health care and respond to mental health crises throughout the facility.
  • Assess and evaluate inmates' mental health in various settings.
  • Identify mental health issues and collaborate with physicians to prescribe appropriate treatment.
  • Implement therapeutic regimens approved by psychiatrists for patient care.
  • Educate inmates, healthcare staff, and correctional personnel on mental health management and support.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all mental health interactions and treatments.
  • Follow safety and security policies, participate in disaster drills, and adhere to security protocols related to keys, sharps, and controlled substances.
  • Supervise infection control practices and ensure adherence to Universal Precautions and other infection control standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Key Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited college/university Nurse Practitioner program with current state licensure and certification.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Available to participate in on-call scheduling as needed.
  • Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
  • Background check, security clearance, and drug screening required for this role.
