Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Consultant with deep expertise in Manhattan Active WMS to lead and support a large-scale WMS transformation across our distribution network. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong technical, functional, and leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and deploying Manhattan Active WMS solutions, while also serving as a key consultant between business operations and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle implementations of Manhattan Active WMS across multiple distribution centers.
  • Configure and design WMS processes tailored to business needs, including Receiving, Pick, Pack, and Ship workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, define system design, and ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of supply chain processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create detailed documentation including process flows, use cases, business rules, and system design artifacts.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Support testing strategies and validate functional changes in WMS.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders on WMS strategy and execution.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of consulting experience in Supply Chain for Retail, or Consumer Goods industries.
  • Minimum of 2 full-cycle implementations of Manhattan Active WMS.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Manhattan Active WMS and configuration.
  • Experience with Manhattan Proactive Extension development.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard warehouse processes - receiving, putaway, cross dock, pick/pack and shipping.
  • Familiarity with JSON and Postman for API testing and integration.
  • Experience with Configuration Director and managing multi-configuration environments.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and project execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with system integration technologies and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS.
  • Experience with integration between WMS and business ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of distribution center transportation and logistics.
  • Experience with Manhattan SCI reporting and analytics tools.

  • Gain a clear understanding of the client environment, current WMS setup, and ongoing project scope.
  • Familiarize yourself with Manhattan Active WMS configurations, integrations, and key workflows (receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping).
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across business, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Review existing documentation, configurations, and open issues to identify key gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to initial discussions around requirements, system design, and testing strategies.

60 Days In
  • Drive solution design and participate in configuration and integration planning.
  • Lead workshops and design sessions with stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities in processes and systems.
  • Support SIT/UAT planning and execution readiness.
  • Demonstrate progress in implementation milestones and solution alignment.

90 Days In
  • Independently manage end-to-end deliverables for assigned areas within the WMS implementation.
  • Successfully support or lead go-live readiness and deployment activities, ensuring a smooth transition to production.
  • Provide strategic input on WMS design, integrations, and future enhancements.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in process efficiency, system stability, and operational performance.
  • Be recognized as a trusted consultant by stakeholders, contributing to both technical execution and business outcomes.
