We are recruiting for a Branch Manager, Contract Surety to join our team. This role can sit remote in most locations across the U.S.

Position Summary:

Lead the contract surety team within the branch in handling complex and demanding agency relationships in support of the company's mission. Promote the vision and objectives for the team while leading underwriters who handle complex contract surety accounts. Ensure continuity within the branch from both an underwriting and customer relationship standpoint. Provide consistent contributions to the division's strategic plan by implementing underwriting procedures and guidelines to ensure profitable results.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage direct reports, providing training and feedback to ensure industry-best service and support.

  • Manage Agency relationships for the branch, focusing on customer needs and expectations.

  • Lead the underwriting process for the branch with direct involvement on more difficult risks.

  • Assume direct underwriting responsibilities for assigned Agency relationships.

  • Manage budgeting and benchmarking for the branch.

  • Ensure marketing consistency throughout the branch.

  • Develop strategy for continuing growth and profitability in the branch.

  • Collect and analyze industry information to provide guidance to senior management.

  • Develop local market knowledge of potential new surety opportunities.

  • Contribute to projects and committees in association with senior management to promote the development of Amerisure Surety's infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or accounting, or equivalent work-related experience.

  • Minimum 7 years of contract surety underwriting experience

  • Minimum 3 years of contract surety management experience

  • Financial analysis and risk assessment skills

  • Demonstrated success cultivating and maintaining business relationships with key customers to support departmental goals and objectives.

  • Strong leadership capability with experience in building and leading highly successful teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively build relationships across all levels of the organization. Coach, mentor, and visionary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.

  • Problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
