Medical Record Technician. Coding and Release of Information

Pay
$26 to $32 per hour

Location
Remote eligible. VA approval required.
Some Release of Information tasks may require onsite or hybrid work.

Contract Length
March 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026
Six month contract
Possible extension up to six additional months

Job Overview
You support the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System.
You provide medical record coding and Release of Information services.
You follow VA, VHA, CMS, and HIPAA standards.

Key Responsibilities
Medical Records Coding
• Code inpatient and outpatient medical records
• Apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT guidelines
• Meet accuracy and productivity standards
• Reduce coding backlogs

Release of Information
• Process medical record release requests
• Ensure privacy and HIPAA compliance
• Retrieve, review, and disclose records on time

Qualifications
• Experience as a Medical Record Technician
