Job description

Twist Bioscience is seeking a qualified Payroll Specialist. The Specialist will primarily handle tasks related to payroll and human resources using ADP WFN. This position will support the payroll function and benefit administration for our US payroll team. They will report directly to the Sr. Payroll Specialist and will be responsible for many Finance and payroll related functions relating to onboarding, offboarding, benefits, employee training using ADP.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Enter and import new hires, employee changes, terminations, leaves of absence, benefit deductions, garnishments, and 401(k) plan
  • Acting as our point of contact for all employees pay and benefit queries, investigating, and resolving all matters as required in a timely fashion.  Partner with PEO and HR to ensure benefits are accurate for new hires as well as any employees requesting life event changes.
  • Responding professionally to queries from HR Business Partners and employees at all levels, communicating clearly and effectively
  • Assisting US employees with benefits. Help our employees during the transition of enrolling in benefits i.e., new hires and open enrollment
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of personnel records in ADP, Fidelity, and our benefit vendors
  • Assist with all journal entries associated with regular payrolls, off-cycle runs and any accruals for monthly benefits.
  • Work in SAP to load journal entries and assist department with analyzing accruals and FLUX during close
  • Respond to unemployment claims
  • Work with the Leave of Absence team in HR to ensure semi-monthly payroll is accurate.
  • Assist with 401(k) Audits
  • Work with the Pay Rate Changes team in HR to ensure timely updates for payroll periods.
  • Work with the payroll team to manage Time and Attendance for hourly employees as well as PTO approval tracking for salaried employees.
  • Attend weekly new hire orientation giving new hires guidance on ADP accounts, 401(k) eligibility to begin the trek navigating all payroll related tasks.
  • Follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements

What You'll Bring to the Team 

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in HR/Payroll Environment
  • Previous experience with ADP WFN and Time and Attendance module in ADP
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, Email, Calendering for Payroll
  • Ability to work with outside vendors for leave of absence, benefits
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High Level of Attention to Detail
