Solvd US — Director, Human Resources

We combine automation, intelligence, and human expertise to accelerate cycle times, reduce costs, and improve outcomes across appraisal, repair, subrogation response, and estimating. The role

The HR Director leads the HR function, setting strategy and providing hands-on leadership across organizational development, employee relations, leave and accommodation management, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, and compliance. You\'ll partner with executive leadership, HR staff, and people managers to build a high-performing, compliant, and engaged workforce.


What you\'ll do

Strategy & leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategy aligned to business objectives; advise executives on org design, workforce planning, and people-related risk
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team; own the HR budget
  • Serve as the US point of contact for Solvd Global HR strategy


Employee relations & compliance

  • Act as SME on federal, state, and local employment law
  • Coach managers on performance issues, conflict, and disciplinary action; review and approve PIPs, corrective actions, and terminations
  • Conduct or oversee confidential workplace investigations
  • Manage FMLA, leaves, and accommodations across 30+ states; manage workers\' comp claims and regulatory reporting
  • Maintain confidential employee records; lead handbook revisions, policy updates, and compliance audits
  • Oversee HR reporting (headcount, turnover, compliance metrics) and process improvement


Talent & employee lifecycle

  • Partner with leadership on headcount planning and workforce forecasting
  • Support full-cycle recruiting alongside the HR Generalist
  • Own onboarding and offboarding, including exit interviews and system access changes


Compensation, benefits & payroll

  • Own compensation philosophy, structure, and job architecture with executive leadership
  • Own benefits strategy and plan design; partner with the broker on annual open enrollment
  • Manage the 401(k) plan, including administration, compliance, and annual audit
  • Own multi-state payroll administration


Performance & development

  • Lead performance review cycles, goal setting, and development initiatives
  • Drive succession planning, leadership development, and training programs


Culture & engagement

  • Foster an inclusive culture aligned with company values
  • Drive engagement initiatives, recognition programs, events, surveys, and HR communications
  • Lead cross-functional projects that improve employee experience


What we\'re looking for

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership across org strategy, comp/benefits, and employee relations
  • Bachelor\'s in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred; SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or equivalent preferred
  • Hands-on multi-state leave and accommodation experience (ADA, FMLA, state leave laws)
  • Experience running confidential investigations through resolution
  • Multi-state payroll and benefits administration experience
  • Track record coaching managers through performance management, corrective action, and termination
  • Deep federal and state employment law expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and comfort navigating ambiguity
  • Proficiency with HR systems and digital collaboration tools; BambooHR a plus
